Mostafa came to Canada from Fez, Morocco which possesses a rich artistic culture. This culture is what makes Mostafa tick. His artistic talents are derived from his upbringing and are imbedded into his soul.

Mostafa brings over 25 years experience in the hairdressing industry and has worked with some of the best. Mostafa grew up with hairdressing in his family and in his blood. He trained in Morocco and then in Europe. He has learned "advanced cutting" from Irwin Rusk and is a master colorist through extensive training with Goldwell.

In 1999 he realized a long time dream and opened Mostafa Hair Design with his wife Leona in Lower Lonsdale on the North Shore. Through hard work and dedication the salon was recognized by the North Shore Reader's Choice awards as one of the favorite salons in 2002. 

Mostafa was also featured in a book called "From Far and Wide - Cultural Diversity in North Vancouver" This book celebrated people from other cultures that have been successful in the North Vancouver community.

Zahir has been specializing in this field since 1986 when he received his hairdressing license at the age of 20. Throughout his career he has trained and learned from the best and has mastered "advanced cutting" techniques from such greats as Irwin Rusk, Vidal Sassoon, and Trevor Sorbie. Zahir has become so accomplished in his work that for the last 10 years he continually has taught his techniques to new and upcoming stylists.

He is our celebrity at Mostafa Hair Design and has won Gold in many hairdressing competitions with his work. Zahir has worked in the film industry and has even co-authored a book that is known as the "Bible" for hairdressers. In a publication in 2004, Zahir was referred to as a hair guru and many people on the street stop his clients and ask where they get their hair done.

Zahir is a specialist in cutting long or short hair, up do's and styles for fashion shows. He believes that as the industry and fashion changes it just brings more and more creativity out of him with his work. Come and meet the world re-known Zahir at Mostafa Hair Design.

Sunae is the newest member of the Mostafa Dream team.

She is a phenomenal stylist who has over 15 years experience in making people look and feel beautiful. Sunae previously owned her own salon but prefers to now work with Mostafa in the collaborative environment that he creates and her talent and experience has quickly helped her become a valuable member of the Mostafa team.
