Meet 2 of Our Top Stylists . . . . Mostafa | Zahir
Mostafa came to Canada from Fez, Morocco which possesses a rich artistic culture. This culture is what makes Mostafa tick. His artistic talents are derived from his upbringing and are imbedded into his soul.
Mostafa brings over 25 years experience in the hairdressing industry and has worked with some of the best in the business. He grew up with hairdressing in his family and in his blood and trained in Morocco and then in Europe. Learning "advanced cutting" from Irwin Rusk, Mostafa also went through entensive training with Goldwell and is considered a master colorist.
In 1999 he realized his long time dream when opened his own hair design salon with his wife Leona Lemdersi-filali in Lower Lonsdale on the North Shore. Through hard work, adherence to excellence and dedication the salon was recognized by the North Shore Reader's Choice awards as one of the favorite salons in 2002.
Mostafa was also featured in a book called "From Far and Wide - Cultural Diversity in North Vancouver". This book celebrated people from other cultures who are successful in the North Vancouver community. Mostafa has always said that he lives for his job and loves creating a look on every client that enhances their natural beauty or masculinity. Zahir has been specializing in this field since 1986 when he received his hairdressing license at the age of 20. Throughout his career he has trained and learned from the best and has mastered "advanced cutting" techniques from such greats as Irwin Rusk, Vidal Sassoon, and Trevor Sorbie.
Zahir has become so accomplished in his work that for the last 10 years he continually has taught his techniques to new and upcoming stylists.
He is our current celebrity at Mostafa Hair Design and has won Gold in many hairdressing competitions with his work. Zahir has worked in the film industry and has even co-authored a book that is known as the "Bible" for hairdressers. In a publication in 2004, Zahir was referred to as a hair guru and many people on the street stop his clients and want to know where they get their hair done.
Zahir is a specialist in cutting long or short hair, up do's and styles for fashion shows. He believes that as the industry and fashion changes it just brings more and more creativity out of him with his work. Come and meet the world re-known Zahir at Mostafa Hair Design.
